Denali National Park Museum

Had a wonderful time cruising to Alaska and traveling inland to Denali National Park. Lucky enough to see almost all the big mammals, but the most rewarding were really close sightings of a moose with two calves and a bear with two cubs. The only big one missed was a wolf, so this photo is obviously from an exhibit. Scenery is spectacular — glaciers calving into bays, Denali (Mt. McKinley still to the mapmakers) in full view although very rare to see it that way, and snowcapped mountains from horizon to horizon even in summer. Now back home and hard at work to finish the first draft of Lazarus before upcoming “author’s tour” of West Virginia in August (more on that in an imminent post).
